Folks, I AM Still Alive!
Yes, I've been such a deadbeat blogger as of late. But hubs and I have been so, so, SO incredibly busy for the last month getting ready for this past weekends out-of-state guests from California and Pennsylvania. We've done so much to the kitchen and living room and right now, we are beat! We painted the kitchen ceiling, kitchen and living room walls, kitchen and living room floors, installed all our kitchen lighting, cleaned, cleaned, cleaned, accessorized a little...and I finally have CURTAINS hung!
Because of all the work we've been doing and the time crunch we were in, I haven't had time to take any photos OR blog, but I'll be doing that again soon. It's nice to have things "put together" enough that it doesn't feel like a construction site(in living room and kitchen, anyway). The rest of the house is another story:) I'm looking forward to taking a bit of a break from the house for a while to work on other things. And hubs is ready for a nap!

I, for one, am glad you're back and can't wait to for you to post some new pictures. My husband and I have just purchased a 1985 fixer-upper. I've already gained a LOT of inspiration and ideas from you and your blog.
A happy, safe and prosperous New Year to you and your family.
So glad that your are doing well. You guys must be exhausted! Did you enjoy your company?
Welcome back to blog world Kim and Happy New Year.
Welcome back! I can't wait to see photos, I bet they're fantastic. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and have a spectacular New Year!

Speaking as the "company from California" I must say that I was amazed at what all was done to the cottage. I mean WOW! Very nicely done to both the always gracious and lovely - Kim and her ever working, geocaching, falling asleep whenever he sits down - husband.

Happy New Year. Love to see the pictures once you have recovered!!!
Have been looking at your backsplash for months dying to know how you did it. There is a process "Brickit" which uses 1/2 bricks...any thoughts?
I happened upon your blog today while link hopping...love the work you've done in your home so far. It is all very inspiring! We have a newly built home but I am hoping to bring some character and age to it. Your ceilings are wonderful - I'm adding those to my wish list :~) Have a wonderful day!
Thank you all so much! I'm looking forward to "catching up" soon!
