A Perfect Cottage Color - "Clarified Butter" ! Living Room Photos
Well, the living room wall color is up and I'm in love! To my husband's relief, I'm happy to say that I am very pleased with the color - just what I wanted! Yellow is such a tricky color. I was terrified of ending up with something that was too pastel or too dark. After mulling over many, many, many (did I say many!) samples over the last few months, I decided on American Tradition's "Clarifed Butter". The photos below don't do the color justice...I took these yesterday when it was very dark and dreary outside, so no natural light pouring to show how beautifully the walls turned out. There will be more photos when we're completely finished in there - there are several big things left to do: flooring, trimwork, a new closet door, reinstall the beam on the ceiling, and possibly paint the fireplace insert. Then I can start d e c o r a t i n g !!!!!! My living room has been so bare all these months - it needs some life big time! Here are a couple of photos (click to enlarge)...check the Living Room section in my photo gallery for more.
Edited to add: Today was much sunnier so I took some more photos that better show the paint color...see them in my next entry...

It looks so bright and cheery! How nice to get the painting behind you.
Thanks, Jordana! I'm *so* glad the living room painting is complete..it's been torn apart for months and months and we're finally to the point were we can start putting it back together, thank goodness!
Oh YUM Kim, i absolutely LOVE the color!!! What a great and patient husband you have..Mine would never allow me to change my mind on such a big job! LOL
Hugs to you, and congrats on getting things done, im glad you can get things put back in order!
What a gorgeous shade, Kim. You chose well. It looks great with your furnishings, and the fireplace. It makes the room come alive and it just 'glows'. Lovely! :)
Thank you, Ali! I'm really pleased with it! Yeah, Jeff has been a real trooper. I've textured the living room walls *twice* (I didn't like the painted result of the first time around) and he's spent so much time painting them. He still thinks I'm going to change my mind this time around, too!
Hi, Bev! I'm really glad that I decided to lighten the tile on the fireplace...the beige tiles would have looked very out of place. I love the contrast between white and a bolder color:) I'm glad you like it!
