On a Personal Note...

Our hearts here at home are very much saddened this week by the plane crash on Saturday that killed five. They were all our brothers in the faith, but one in particular we knew personally for many, many years. Because of his fine example as a caring and devoted husband and father, Hubs looked up to him so much that he wanted him to give our wedding talk when we were married, but we ended up marrying in North Carolina where hubs lived at the time. We are all shocked and deeply saddened and send our love and prayers to all the families and friends affected by this tragedy.

I hate to dwell on the negative - but also this week, hubs grandmother suffered a heart attack which has left her heart at 15% capacity. She is home now but is very frail and weak - and of course we are worried for her.

Just wanted to give a heads up...it's been hard to concentrate much on anything else. We've all passed around some sort of bug here for the last few weeks and everyone is finally better (I think!) and so we're trying to get back on track...

I hope everyone is doing well:)

Hey Kim ~
Brian and I were deeply saddened to hear of the tragedy. We heard about it yesterday and I actually wondered if you knew any of them, I just never got a chance to ask (dealing with another round of sickness over here too). We pray for the family and friends of all of those whose lives they had touched.
Hope your hubby's grandmother gets to feeling better. I can only imagine the worry that you guys are having to deal with right now.
Well try and take care of yourself and hope you and your family get to feeling better soon! Sending all our love to you and yours. ~ Jessica

Kim, I'm so sorry I didn't ask about the news I'd read. We've been so busy painting and not being online much. We are all in shock over the crash as a few of the brothers we know on our RBC travel by plane, too. The families of our dear brothers were mentioned in the closing prayer last night at Bookstudy.

I'm also so sorry to hear that your hubs' grandmother suffered a heart attack. Prayers are with your family, too.

So much to deal with all at once. I pray that your heart will be comforted and that will grieve peacefully.

Well, this certainly doesn't seem like a very appropriate post for such a random comment as mine. But I did want to say that I was so blessed to happen upon your blog tonight. I did a google search for "brick backsplash" and found it. I was feeling a little down about my dark brown seventies style cabinets and unmatching appliances but feel motivated and encouraged after seeing the work you and "Hubs" have done (which consequently is often what I call mine! ;-). We have done a fair amount of work on our own home, including refinishing almost all the carpet covered wood floors. I will be checking in regularly for a little inspiration (no pressure or anything).

It was also neat to read that you are a sister in the Lord!

Such sad news, isnt it? I couldnt believe it when I heard. I didnt know any of them personally but we have friends in Johnson City who were close to some of them.

Jehovah remembers them though...we can be certain of that. And again, I'm so sorry to hear about Jeff's granny...we will pray for everyone.

Love,
Ashley

This is my first visit to your blog. Maybe I should not write anything, but I feel that since the world is quite small...it´s hard not to make a comment when I can??? I just want to say that I think of your family and hope for the best for you :).
(If I have written something wrong, then I am sorry...I am swedish *smile*)
