Crazy, Busy Life
Maybe someday I'll look back on these years that I'm raising children, remodeling, and getting a business up and running and laugh. Or wonder how in the world I managed! Have you seen my head? I do believe I've lost it already!
After spending the last couple of days hovering over my keyboard and a graphics program, I've come up with a front page for my shop. I've decided to still use Etsy, but in addition to my own online store. So - now I need to build a business site and online shop from the ground up.
It's been a while since I was a web designer and already, the front page has caused problems. I nearly always forget about those with 800 X 600 screen resolutions until I'm nearly done with my design! I really hate for anyone to have to scroll from left to right, even a little bit. But yep, the main page is a scroller right now for those of you that use 800 X 600 screen resolution. It is temporary, though, and I'll fix it when I design the rest of my shop. But you'll get an idea of the direction I'm taking with my business...just a simple old-fashioned and nostalgic feel. Let me know what you think (and if you have to scroll!)
You can find my site at TwiceRemembered.com The link in the upper right hand corner of this page will still link to my shop blog for now (which will also need to be updated to match the feel of the rest of what I'm creating.
I think that's all for now...I'm going to go relax a bit!

I know nothing about web design or business, but FWIW, I just have to say "Mama Twila" makes you sound real old. Not anything like your photo and your fresh cottage look. Blessings to you and your business anyway!
Love, love, love the red polka dots! You're doing great and creating something that will be beautiful and charming. Can't wait to see it completed! Cindy at Rosehaven Cottage
Thanks, Cindy and Anonymous! I've always loved red polka dots too...so fun!
Anon, I appreciate your comment - thanks for sharing! For the last eight years, my computer username has been "twilightmama" for the most part. But I decided to change it up a bit as of late - plus I've *always* loved the name Twila. And don't forget I am a mama of three chickadees - I'm use to being called Mama anyway!:) As I've mentioned elsewhere, it does remind me of my grandmas, too - and that's another major reason for the name change. I guess I'm just one of those people that doesn't think much of it:)
It looks really good!

Hey Kim ~ The new site is looking cute! I so understand how busy things get....thats about my life in a nutshell.
If you dont already know about it, there is Zen Cart. We use it and love it. We found it to be a pretty good at managing things, plus its pretty easy to customize, using stylesheets to doll it up. Just thought I would pass that along. I know we too have been working on an online store...but thats been put on the back burner until we can get our house built and get IN it before winter...thats the rush loL!
Well glad to hear things are perking up for you! Thinking of you always! ~ Jessica
P.S. Believe it or not, you are usually the first site I visit when firefox gets loaded up....its actually a habit now lol!
Everything looks really great Kim, kudos on all the hard work you have put into your shop. I think your really going to do well. You have lots of great ideas and it shows in your product. Good luck with the site and with Etsy! I will be a visitor often :)

Thanks, you all! What a job it is to put up a shopping cart! But hopefully it will make it easier for those wanting to purchase items.
Thanks for the tip, Jessica! I had already installed Oscommerce and am currently customizing it. I will keep Zen in mind, though, if this doesn't work out! Thanks for visiting...I love visiting your site, too!
